Great location, at close proximity to Zuma beach. Very friendly and efficient staff. We got a room upgrade, which made our stay very comfortable indeed.
The room we initially booked although recently renovated felt a little bit cramped for the winter months - big terrace though, great for the summer months!
Great location, slightly funky '50s "feel", great balconies.
Well what we both like was how friendly the staff was to us.When we booked our stay with Malibu Country Inn Ivy who was in charge called me to let me know that my reservation came in second to someone else over the internet but that they suggested another room that was recently renovated and at a lesser price as an option. And so I trusted Ivy with the room she suggested to us and we loved it! It turn out better than what we expected and it was everything we hope for. We enjoyed ourselves and plan to revisit Malibu Country Inn and make it our favorite place to stay.- Thanks Ivy for your help!
The room need more lighting in the balcony at night. White Christmas lights would look so nice and give enough romantic lighting would be our suggestion.
Cozy setting and a nice location.
Friendly reception, accommodating, comfortable, clean, and the rennovated rooms are very quaint. We loved the jacuzzi on the patio.
Unfortunately we decided to stay another night but our original room was taken so we had to switch to a room that was not rennovated. It wasn't that bad, just not as nice as the first room.
Jacuzzi on private patio - awesome! Great room and location too.
Location amazing and staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very nice, most with a private terrace. Great views.
No a/c, very limited services and amenities. If you want pampering and room service this is not the hotel for you. Pool a bit meager, attached restaurant not great. Still, amazing value for the money and somewhere we would stay again.
No safe, microwave in the room. No breakfast included.
A tucked away location with excellent views. Loved having our own front door as each room was a seperate unit. The bed was the most comfortable of our whole holiday and even though there was no eating place attached to the motel there was the Paradise Cove beach restaurant less than a mile away and this was fantastic. The room decoration was very good, but the painwork on the balcony needed some attention. It would also have been better if some plants were located on the balcony arer.
Great location. Generous size rooms. Poor heating system and/or controls (I could not find them!)
Remodel looks good on surface, but is actually cheaply done. Details are missing--toilet paper roll fell off previously and hadn't been repaired for us. Blind topper had fallen off on one side. No heat in the unit and it got really cold. Cramped room where walking out of the bathroom we had to duck to miss hitting our heads on the tv hung on the wall since there was no room with the king size bed. Owners seem to be trying to get the remodel of the Inn finished, but don't have the money to do it well.
it was quiet and quaint. Not all the rooms have been renovated as of yet. We didnt get a newly renovated room but it was clean and quaint and the patio is nice. The garden/grounds are very visually appealing.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant next door had great food at a reasonable value. The room was clean and comfortable.
I might add another deadbolt lock on the door that you can flip from the inside of the room.
Friendly and helpful staff nice restuarant very close to the beach
bathroom not totally clean needs refurbishment
The best part about the inn is the fact that it's located in the quieter part of Malibu. It's pretty much a Hotel 6.
To be honest, we were surprised at how average the hotel was, and its proximity to the beach was misleading. The accommodations were average, and despite a cleaning woman almost constantly present in front of the rooms, the cleanliness was far from stellar. Hairs in the sink and tub were the most disconcerting. The pillows were totally beat and ready for the trash. The balcony overlooks the walkway to the restaurant the hotel shares a parking lot with. Not sure if the restaurant is owned by the same people, but, though the food wasn't bad, the price for breakfast was ridiculous, over $50 for French toast and sautéed vegetables, tea and coffee. To walk to the beach you take your life in your hands dodging traffic. There isn't a quiet little pathway or lane - it's the main thoroughfare to a popular surfing beach. The pool is located next to the public restaurant. No ambience at all
